Why batch traceability matters more than headline purity

28 May 2026 · 5 min read

Headline purity figures are easy to publish and difficult to verify. They typically describe one favourable historic result rather than the material currently in stock.

Traceability works differently. It links the container you received to a specific intake record, a specific sample submission and a specific analytical report. That chain can be checked, questioned and audited.

A supplier operating traceably will be able to answer three questions immediately: which batch did this come from, when was that batch analysed, and where is the report. If any link in that chain is missing, the number on the front page cannot be relied upon.

This is why our verification database is organised by batch rather than by product. Products persist; batches do not.
